I don't know anyone that actually likes moving. We all find those random junk drawers and closets and let me tell you I seriously just want to shut the door and never look in there again! But recently one of my very best friends told me about Marie Kondo. OMG GUYS! I actually purged my whole house before starting to pack and Im going to have to take about 5 trips to the donation bin to get rid of it all! Now I'm so excited that packing Is going to take me about 1 day instead of a whole month! I got rid of that much stuff... Yikes. But oh man do I feel better! I still feel like I could keep going and get rid of more but for now I'm just going to be happy with the progress that I have made! I highly recommend looking into Marie and her techniques. She has so much information online, her book the Life changing magic of tidying up, she also has a great little series on Netflix! So many good nuggets and I cant wait to hear what you guys think of her!
Find and know your vibe! You know youself the best so listen to you inner fashionista, let the clothes speak to you! We all have our own unique style, So follow that! Also KNOW YOUR COLORS! Lets be real some colors just wash us out and make us look like we just stepped out of a grave! Am I right or what! Orange is that color for me, as hard as I try i'll never be pulling orange off in my life, but that's ok that's only one color in a MILLION! But when you're about to do a photoshoot you wanna show up feeling your absolute best and really feelin yourself! So rock it, go buy a new shirt, a pair of shoes, or an accessory that is just gonna make you feel good! Also do a little self lovin before you go, get your nails done, maybe your makeup done. GIRLS ask your tribe for some help, because we all need a little lovin from our hype girls before we step in-front of a lens, cause lets be real we all kinda glitch out and don't know what to do with our hand at some moments! As most of you know I recently visited the Fort Worth/Dallas area in Texas. Coming from small town Montana I really didn't have a clue what to expect! Going from two lane highways and I-90 the biggest road in Montana, boy was I in for a big surprise! The driving down there alone is enough to make your eyes pop out of you head! Getting on and off the wrong exits onto the wrong toll and going forty minutes out of your way for one wrong turn! OOPS... Also don't even get me started on getting into the bad parts of town and wondering if you are going to have a homeless man try and jump into your back seat! John just laughs at me because I'm not scared of spiders, bugs, or snakes, but when I see 5 homeless men lurking under bridges bathing I shrink down in my seat and don't make eye contact... Horrible I know, They are just humans you say, but after a horrible encounter in Spokane Washington it'll forever be this way!
After doing some incredible shopping for almost three days in a row thanks to all the rain. Finally the weather cleared up and we headed out to Glen Rose. This is what I had been waiting for, IT WAS TIME! We were on our way to Fossil Rim Wildlife Sanctuary, We had talked and talked about this months before I flew down there! Let me tell you I think I drove John CRAZY talking about Giraffes and baby rhinos and how flipping excited I was! Getting there we went in to get our tickets and obviously spent our dinner money on giraffe food! It was such an incredible experience, we got to see Addax, Arabian Oryx, Axis Deer, Blackbucks, Cheetahs, Wildebeest's, Emus, European Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Giraffes, Rhinos, and so many more! This literally was all my dreams coming true! I got to get so up close and personal with all these amazing animals, and I was squeaking with joy the entire time! If you are ever in the Glen Rose area I highly recommend visiting, it is completely worth it! I cannot wait to go back and see them all again, and if Fossil Rim would hire me as the full time marketing photographer I wouldn't complain!
On Friday night I ended up sitting through a webinar. It was by David Molnar "Show your camera who's boss". It was really good. I knew a lot of it already but you know what sometimes it is good to go back and refresh on the basics. Refreshing on ISO & F/stop and more. Also I found his blog and it is so full of goodies!! I can't wait to keep reading and fine more treasures that he has posted recently! Here is the link incase you want to check it out: https://davidmolnar.com/blog/
As some of you may or may not know I grew up a ranch and until recently still lived on one. Moving to Bozeman and living on one of the main streets has proven to be quite the adjustment. I miss the ranch so much and just being close to my family. I used to live about 5 min from them and now I live almost 8 hours away from them, so I don't get home nearly as much as I wish I did. But when I do get to go home its like I never left, between helping my parents, feeding cattle, running errands, or getting to see my horses that I adore so much its truly what I love! Im just glad that photography has provided me a way to have a little bit of home with me wherever I am!
I haven't blogged since college. But I feel like this is something I need to do. I want to push myself, learn new things, and post pictures that maybe aren't gonna make my "perfect" instagram timeline! Also might show some tid bits from my life with my dogs and well the love of my life! But for today I'm relaxing and just taking it easy on this lovely Friday night. Cuddled in bed with my puppies and relaxing.
