As most of you know I recently visited the Fort Worth/Dallas area in Texas. Coming from small town Montana I really didn't have a clue what to expect! Going from two lane highways and I-90 the biggest road in Montana, boy was I in for a big surprise! The driving down there alone is enough to make your eyes pop out of you head! Getting on and off the wrong exits onto the wrong toll and going forty minutes out of your way for one wrong turn! OOPS... Also don't even get me started on getting into the bad parts of town and wondering if you are going to have a homeless man try and jump into your back seat! John just laughs at me because I'm not scared of spiders, bugs, or snakes, but when I see 5 homeless men lurking under bridges bathing I shrink down in my seat and don't make eye contact... Horrible I know, They are just humans you say, but after a horrible encounter in Spokane Washington it'll forever be this way!
After doing some incredible shopping for almost three days in a row thanks to all the rain. Finally the weather cleared up and we headed out to Glen Rose. This is what I had been waiting for, IT WAS TIME! We were on our way to Fossil Rim Wildlife Sanctuary, We had talked and talked about this months before I flew down there! Let me tell you I think I drove John CRAZY talking about Giraffes and baby rhinos and how flipping excited I was! Getting there we went in to get our tickets and obviously spent our dinner money on giraffe food! It was such an incredible experience, we got to see Addax, Arabian Oryx, Axis Deer, Blackbucks, Cheetahs, Wildebeest's, Emus, European Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Giraffes, Rhinos, and so many more! This literally was all my dreams coming true! I got to get so up close and personal with all these amazing animals, and I was squeaking with joy the entire time! If you are ever in the Glen Rose area I highly recommend visiting, it is completely worth it! I cannot wait to go back and see them all again, and if Fossil Rim would hire me as the full time marketing photographer I wouldn't complain!
